Development Worker with passion for music and people, someone who can share his/her passion and skills with all ages - from  young people aged 7 to 18 years and young and not so young adults 18 to 90+ years. The post looks to encourage a ‘music for all’ approach to finding and using voice, learning and playing a musical instrument or two, and using a range of new musicality skills to explore the world and places within that world individual and group learning, performance and sharing to enable access to quality musical opportunties. We need someone who can provide daytime and evening sessions to include a regular Saturday opportunity and regular play and youth work evening sessions who is able to inspire and motivate and help us show the world that disability does not mean inability. 

We envisage  'we all have a voice to be heard' workshops exploring role play, improvisation, imitating, learning and enjoying a range of genres from Lion King to Carmen, to investigate emotion, expressions and understandings - from confusion and desolation to hysteria and celebration - we will investigate musical horizons and gain performance and team work skills whilst making sense of the world through understanding sounds and their potential and creation.

From harmony to musical dialogue individual and collective skills acquisition enabling self esteem, confidence and new competences, the project work will involve learning and music - tonic sol fa to blues and jazz though a journey around learning techniques, development of and maximising aptitudes and potential to achieve individual and collective musical, personal and social benefits that are liberating, therapeutic and emotionally sustaining.

Accredited learning, individual and ensemble skills – the project will use musicality to do all of the above and create a ‘Sing a Rainbow’ portfolio of sound to tell individual and collective stories about  life during and across the COVID pandemic period and beyond

Salary is £14743 actual for 24 hours work per week being £11.83 per hour equivalent £21500 per annum.
