VONNE, which hosts the North East England Climate Coalition

North East England Climate Coalition, which is hosted by VONNE, is recruiting for a Communications and Events Officer.

The North East England Climate Coalition (NEECCo) is a cross-sector coalition bringing the North East together to tackle the climate emergency, reverse ecological collapse and deliver a just transition to a green economy. We aim to accelerate the movement towards zero emissions which, if achieved, will mean the birthplace of climate change – the North East of England – will no longer be contributing emissions. We will instead become a leader in the response to the climate emergency.

The post of Communications and Events Officer is a new post. The communications and events function of NEECCo is crucial to building and engaging a growing network of supporters, partners and strategic partners to the coalition. We have ambitions to engage with organisations, businesses and individuals across the North East under our collective ambition of ‘Becoming England’s greenest region’.

The successful candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills, and be able to manage competing priorities and work under their own initiative and remotely within a small team environment. The Communications and Events Officer will work closely with the NEECCo executive team, wider strategic partners and the public engagement working group to further develop and deliver the communications and engagement plan.

This post is also available as a secondment, and through an organisation wishing to support NEECCo by part-funding this as a seconded post.

This post has been funded by North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System.

The closing date for applications is Monday, May 17th at 12 noon, with interviews being held on Tuesday, May 25th.
