Enjoy being listened to and have involvement in shaping activities for young people?
Northbourne Youth Initiative is a small charity working right in the heart of Elswick, Newcastle, based in an end terrace house on the Northbourne Estate.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Play & Youth Worker who is keen to make a difference to the lives of young people we work with. You should be fun, active, caring and enthusiastic (that’s what the young people tell us!).
At Northbourne we deliver activities for young people aged 8-19 years. We are looking for someone to join our team who has experience and skills working with and supporting young people. Part of the role will include delivery and involvement in our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program, so having an interest in the outdoors and knowledge of the award would be advantageous. You will also be expected to be able to work in other areas of play & youth work across our weekly program. Some of our current activities include Music making and DJ projects, cooking projects, wellness and health activities, arts & crafts, youth drop in sessions and community engagement.
Weekly hours initially would be Wednesday & Thursday evenings, with opportunities for additional hours during schools holiday periods.
If you have an interest or experience in any of the above: we want to hear from you.
Closing Date: Sunday 28th March 2021
Interview Date: Week Commencing 5th April
