Play and Leisure Co-ordinator – Children & Young People’s Service

We are looking for someone who can quickly establish rapport with children and young people and their families and take the lead in arranging and delivering fun activities that challenge and inspire children and young people. 

You’ll join an established team working with disabled children and young people aged 3 -25 years, delivering a programme of school holiday activities, weekly Youth Groups (term time) and weekly Young Leaders Group (term time).

You will build the projects for the Service; planning, organising and risk assessing activities that match the interests and needs of the children and young people, supporting personal development, independence and community engagement. You’ll then lead the activities, working alongside colleagues and volunteers to support the children and young people to participate, interact and make choices and decisions together.

You’ll work with the children and young people and families that already use our service, and will take on new referrals, working with children and young people and their families to ensure that they have the right support to attend activities.

You will need to keep excellent records and maintain regular communication with families and external agencies.

We want to reach more young people, so there will be opportunities to promote the service by visiting schools and community groups, and to develop wider networks.

This is a part-time role (30 hours per week) to include some early evening work, with flexibility on the other days and hours to be worked.

 

Grade/Salary:              £22000 to £24000 per annum pro rata dependent on experience

Holidays:                     25 days plus bank holidays per annum pro rata, holiday entitlement will increase by one day per year after 3 years’ service to 30 days total
