Job Title:        Project Compliance/Finance Administrator

Team:             Newcastle Futures – North of Tyne Working Homes Project

Salary:            £19,760

Location:        Team base site at Cathedral Square, Newcastle

Hours:            Post holder will work a flexible 37 hour working week

Status:            Fixed Term to 31 March 2022, subject to funding and performance

This post is part funded by the European Social Fund as part of the England 2014 to 2020 European Structural Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth Programme, as part of the North of Tyne Working Homes Project.

North of Tyne Working Homes is a unique partnership of local authorities and social housing providers working across Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.  It is the first major project to deliver the vision of an Inclusive Economy on behalf of the North of Tyne Combined Authority.

The partnership is made up of Bernicia Homes, Karbon Homes, Newcastle Futures Ltd., North Tyneside Housing, Northern Learning Trust, Northumberland County Council Housing Services, and Your Homes Newcastle.

Working Homes will actively engage with tenants of the partner organisations to deliver a programme of flexible, tailored and intensive support to help them connect with the labour market. A key feature is integration of employment support with tenancy management, using employment coaches and other support workers as part of housing management teams. Support will be tailored, based on accurate assessment of need, including a wide range of learning, skills development, job preparation, and job brokerage delivered across the partnership. This will continue when the tenant moves into employment, to help them stay in work and continue to progress. Services will be delivered in locations that best meet tenant need, including a range of neighbourhood based hubs across the area providing on-site services within wider social community networks. 

This innovative partnership approach will enable an effective way to engage with unemployed and economically inactive tenants not engaging with other services, to deliver a more joined-up service to meet a diversity of need. From April 2019, Working Homes will support at least 1,650 residents over three years.

We are currently looking for a Project Compliance-Finance Administrator to join our friendly team of Employment Advisers and support staff. Our ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a methodical and organised manner in order to manage conflicting priorities. They will have financial integrity and a working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts with a recognised qualification in accounting or bookkeeping being desirable.
