Gap Supported Housing is a charity based in Hexham. We provide short term supported accommodation for homeless and vulnerable adults, aged 18 and above.

The challenges are many for the people we support, from tackling addiction to learning basic living skills; from finding employment to getting a home of their own. Our aim is to help each person address their individual support needs, begin the process of moving towards employment, a home of their own, successful independent living and participation in their community as fully as they wish and are able.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced people and operations manager to assist in the management of our accommodation services in Hexham. We have recently opened a new 13 unit accommodation service and are currently refurbishing our original 7 bed accommodation service with the intention of using this to offer separate homeless accommodation to women. The role will involve managing the staff and operations of this service and assisting the present Project Manager with operations at the new 13 bed service.

You will have:

  • At least two years’ experience of working with vulnerable client groups, transferable skills are also valued
  • At least one year’s experience of leading, supervising and managing a staff team.
  • Patience and strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to manage a team of staff and volunteers.
  • You will be energetic and passionate about supporting and empowering homeless and vulnerable people and will ensure that support staff are supported to deliver a high quality person centred support service.

The post is 25 hrs per week structured around daytime hours Monday to Friday

On-call and out of hours support may also be required as our services are delivered all day every day of the year there is a need to be flexible to ensure delivery of this service.

Salary at 25 hours per week is £20618.00 p.a. plus extra duty payments as required

All salary and extra duty rates are reviewed annually.
