For 129 years we have been working with children and young people in their families, schools and communities to ensure they grow up healthy and happy. Our support services focus on those periods in growing up when a little help can make a big difference to a child’s life and future. They are also the periods where if things go wrong, they are likely to have a far-reaching detrimental effect on the child.
Children North East is an innovative charity who are looking for proactive individuals to become part of our Young People’s Service. We are looking for Sessional Counsellors who are experienced in working with children and young people to enhance our current counselling offer.
We are particularly keen to recruit counsellors to work on our new trauma informed Domestic Abuse counselling contract in Sunderland working with children and young people aged 4-17 years.
You will be responsible for providing one to one counselling support taking a client centred approach and sign posting to other specialist services as appropriate. You will assist the Youth Counselling Team Manager and Clinical Co-ordinator in shaping and delivering the service, ensuring the needs of children and young people are at the heart of all your work.
Salary: £23,297 to £25,667; £14.18 - £15.62 sessional hourly rate including holiday pay.
