Children North East exists because growing up can be hard. We work with babies, children and young people through the rollercoaster of growing up in their families, schools and communities.
We have a vacancy within our young people’s service for a Sessional Youth Worker. The successful candidate will join a pool of sessional workers and will be offered short pieces of project work within the service based upon their skills, knowledge and expertise on an ad hoc basis. The role will see the successful candidate supporting vulnerable young people in a variety of settings i.e. detached, outreach, project based.
Salary: £10.89 – £11.73 per hour including holiday pay (scale points 16-19). Please note that appointments are usually made with a salary offer starting at the lower end of the scale.
Hours: It is the nature of sessional work that the availability of work cannot be guaranteed. Working arrangements are on an ‘as and when required basis’.
Place of work: This post is based at Young People’s Service, 4 Graingerville North, Westgate Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE4 6UJ.
Length of Contract: This is a sessional contract and therefore workers will be required as and when necessary.
