Sunderland Counselling Service is seeking to appoint experienced counsellors who will deliver therapy to clients as part of our Counselling for Adult Survivors of Sexual Violence and Abuse (CASSVA) provision for individuals in Sunderland.
We are looking for competent and experienced counsellors who will work with male and female survivors of childhood sexual abuse and / or rape and sexual violence in adulthood aged 18 and over who are living, working or studying within the City of Sunderland. Counselling may also be delivered to male survivors from elsewhere in the region.
The post holders will be expected to have completed specialised training in working with people impacted by rape and sexual violence and have a clear understand of how this impacts individual’s psychological and emotional wellbeing.
Previous experience of assessing client need, as well as providing group work would also be desirable.
We have 2 full-time positions and one 0.3 position available and each fixed-term position will include a minimum of one evening per week until the end of March 2020. Job share will be considered for the full-time positions.
