Our Social Welfare Advisors are responsible for providing social welfare information, advice and guidance to help people to know and understand their rights and responsibilities across a wide range of social welfare issues. Where appropriate they undertake casework to provide the best possible outcomes for clients facing more complex and challenging issues.
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have experience of providing welfare benefits casework on a one to one basis for at least a two-year period and have knowledge of other areas of social welfare issues such as housing or debt. They will be capable of communicating legislation, policies and processes to clients in a way that helps them understand and take appropriate action. The Social Welfare Advisor will be able to operate effectively as part of a dynamic and responsive team with a commitment to putting clients’ needs at the centre of everything we do.

Hours of Work 37 hours per week
Holidays 20 days (rising to 22 after 2 years) plus Bank Holidays per annum
Salary £22,057.56 to £26,081.79 depending on experience
