This post is located within the Elizabeth House project, which provides nine supported beds within a 24-hour supported accommodation setting for young mothers (or mums to be) aged 16+ and their pre-school children.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an individual who is passionate about working with our client group as part of a small, busy team; Elizabeth House works in a multi-disciplinary way, providing a holistic support package to service users whilst keeping the central focus on the child. The project offers housing related support and as such, general guidance in life skills and emotional support, enabling the family to learn the skills they need to live more independently. The work is relationship based, providing life and social skills training, through ordinary day to day situations. This support provides a foundation upon which other professionals work to encourage, develop and assess these skills further.

The prospective candidate would assist with all aspects of running the project, motivating and empowering Service Users towards independent living.   The successful applicant may be required to cover the occasional sleep shift, however this will not be a regular request.

We are seeking a candidate who is organised, practical with a positive outlook, and experience of working with young people in a paid or unpaid capacity. An understanding of the benefits systems and drug and alcohol misuse are desirable. Knowledge of safeguarding children and domestic abuse are essential. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to build cooperative working relationships. Qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field is essential.

*There is an Occupational Requirement for the post holder in this residential project to be female (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1, Para 1)
