Why work with North East Wellbeing?

We are a group of self-employed specialists who work together to offer the best to the most vulnerable in society. We are a truly supportive group of professionals who are guided by the following principle: the child is at the centre of everything that we do.

We are proud to work alongside and in partnership with local and regional organisations which work to transform the lives of children and young people. We work with schools across the North East.

We provide bespoke, innovative, evidence-based solutions to schools.

Our vacancy: Wilderness Schooling Practitioners

As our offer continues to grow, we are seeking creative, outstanding teachers to join our bank of self-employed staff, as part of our Wilderness Schooling team. All of our practitioners have qualified teacher status and are exceptional individuals with creative flair, a passion for teaching beyond the four walls of the classroom and the ability to place social emotional wellbeing at the heart of what they do. All children who take part in our programme make huge improvements in their social emotional health compared to those who remain in the classroom.

We all love teaching and learning and are able to embrace mess and disorder for the sake of spontaneity and wow moments. At the same time, we have a solid understanding of the national curriculum and higher order thinking skills; we use this knowledge to accelerate academic progress in an outdoor, magical classroom.

Many of the children we work with require something a 'little different' to achieve and build self-belief. To be successful in this role you will require compassion, patience and resourceful, positive behaviour management. In addition, with only six days with each child you are required to build strong, meaningful relationships from day one.

As self-employed practitioners we invoice £175 per day, and £1225 for delivering a 6 week programme. As facilitators to another practitioner's programme we earn £150 per day.

If this is you, we would love to hear from you.
