StopGap Supported Housing is a charity based in Hexham. We provide short term supported accommodation for homeless and vulnerable adults, aged 18 and above.
Our aim is to help an individual look at what led or contributed to their homelessness and help them address those issues and begin to get their life back on track.
The role of Tenant Support Worker is key to achieving that aim.
You may need to offer help in learning day to day living skills or accessing external training and educational opportunities; help secure support to address health needs, be it a GP appointment or help to address alcohol or substance misuse; you will help in applying for appropriate benefits, with housing applications and applying for job opportunities. In short you will help each person address their individual support needs and begin the process of moving towards employment, a home of their own and successful independent living.
We are soon to open an additional accommodation service in Hexham and are looking for new people to join our team.
- Have experience of working with vulnerable adults with a variety of support needs
