Durham County Carers Support is a registered Charity that’s mission is “To Improve Carers Lives”. The vision is to create a community where Carers are recognised, valued and supported. We have an excellent reputation and significant recent growth.
Carers are people supporting a family member or friend who couldn’t manage without their support. For example, a Husband supporting his Wife with dementia, or a Parent supporting a child with Autism. Carers save the Country over £132 Billion and with population changes, welfare reforms, delayed retirement and increased living costs, supporting them is critical for all our futures.
We are looking for people who support our aims and want to ensure Carers in County Durham and Darlington get the essential help they need.
We are looking to appoint additional Trustees to strengthen our existing Board. Whatever your professional background and personal experience and understanding of our cause, you will be willing to utilise your knowledge to support the organisation to plan and achieve its goals.
We are particularly seeking skills and experience in the following areas: Finance/ Accounting, Marketing, Income generation, Business Development and IT/ digital technology. However, a passion for our cause and other skills and experience will be welcomed.
Board meetings are bi-monthly on a Tuesday morning, with additional subgroups, training or involvement in staff meetings. Overall the commitment is around 2 hours per month.
