Age UK County Durham is an independent local charity working with communities within the County for over 45 years helping and supporting older people (aged 50 and over). We have a dedicated team of staff and volunteers helping us to deliver our services and activities.
Volunteers play an important and integral role within our organisation and we are looking to recruit new volunteers to join our Charity’s Board of Trustees. Age UK County Durham Board members are responsible for ensuring the organisation is governed correctly and that we remain compliant with Charity Law and other internal/external guidance whilst ensuring we maintain our mission to ‘promote the wellbeing of all older people and to make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.’
Applicants must be able to demonstrate care and an understanding of the needs of older people living in County Durham and have experience at a managerial or leadership level. We would welcome applicants with relevant experience and specifically those with knowledge of working in a retail environment, business development, charity governance or fundraising or feel that you have skills and experience that would bring a benefit to the role; we would like to hear from you.
The post of trustee is unpaid and you must be able to attend meetings at least four times a year, keep yourself briefed on issues relevant to the organisation and think strategically.
If you like more information or an informal discussion regarding the roles please contact
Julie Nicholls on 0191 374 6361, email at email@example.com or write to Julie Nicholls at Age UK County Durham, 1st Floor Houghton House, Belmont Business Park, Durham, DH1 1TW
Closing date for applications is Monday 31 August 2020
As an IIP and Equal Opportunities employer we are committed to developing our employees and volunteers and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Registered charity No 1122008
