Join the Ouseburn Farm Board of Trustees
A subsidiary of Tyne Housing Association, Ouseburn Farm Charity Ltd. is a registered charity, a community-spirited place where learning, enrichment and personal growth are offered freely to whoever needs it.
With a working community farm, cafe and retail space, we offer a range of opportunities for local people, providing a truly unique environment in Newcastle upon Tyne’s Ouseburn Valley. This is our mantra:
This is a place for growing
Plants, fruit and veg, animals, but most of all, people
We cultivate joy here. And learning
We nurture self-confidence and a sense of belonging
You’ll feel it as soon as you walk through our door
Lives are being enriched
Needs are being nourished
It couldn’t happen without our volunteers. Or your donations
We’re a charity. Run for people, not for profits
A community-spirited place where everyone is welcome. And valued
This is a happy place
A wholesome place
A human place
We are looking for enthusiastic people to become trustees of our charity. These are unpaid positions, although we can pay reasonable out of pocket travel expenses.
Board meetings are generally held in the late afternoon although we may have occasional meetings/events outside office hours. Our board currently meets quarterly.
In addition to the main board meetings, board members are invited to join a number of subcommittees and working groups which support the farm’s activities.
If you have a passion for making a difference and the willingness to give time and commitment then we want to hear from you. We are looking for people with experience in finance, adult social care, hospitality and catering, capital development or general commercial expertise. We particularly welcome applications from BME candidates and other underrepresented groups.
Are you interested, would you like to know more? If so please contact Farm Manager Hugh Stolliday, Tel 0191 2323 698 or email hugh.stolliday@ouseburnfarm.org.uk
