At Citizens Advice County Durham we provide free, independent and confidential advice to help clients overcome their problems. We campaign on the big issues and act as a voice when our clients need to be heard. We believe no one should have to face issues without good quality, impartial advice. As an independent local charity, with a turnover of over £3m, we are here to serve the local community in any way that we can.
At present we are currently seeking to recruit a number of Trustees to join our thriving charity. As member of our Board of Trustees, you will carry the collective responsibility for ensuring that the organisation is governed correctly. This will involve ensuring that we are compliant with Charity Law and other internal and external guidance, whilst also striving to ensure that the charity maintains its sense of mission, in line with its primary aims and objectives.
We are seeking to recruit individuals with a strategic vision, independent judgement and a willingness to give time and commitment to being a Trustee. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for the County Durham community and experience at a managerial or leadership level. Specifically we are looking for applicants with experience in the charitable sector.
The post of trustee is unpaid but will provide you a great deal of experience and satisfaction. All reasonable expenses are reimbursed. You must be able to attend meetings at least six times a year, keep yourself briefed on the issues and think strategically. We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse Board of Trustees and welcome applications from all from all communities.
If you like more information or an informal discussion regarding the roles please contact John Scollen – Chair of the board of Trustees or Stuart Dexter – Chief Executive Officer. Alternatively if you would like to join our fantastic board of trustees please send your CV to recruitment@citizensadvicecd,org.uk
