The Rape & Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre (RSACC) was established in 1993, we work to end rape and sexual violence by supporting and empowering women and girls in Darlington and County Durham. Each year we support over 750 survivors of sexual violence. We are a small independent charity with 28 staff and 14 volunteers. We are the only provider of specialist sexual violence services in Darlington and County Durham and commitment to ensuring survivors get the support they need.
We are seeking to recruit innovative and dynamic individuals who are committed to ending violence against women and girls. We are particularly interested in speaking to women with special skills or experience in safeguarding and equality and inclusion work.
We are also looking for individuals with a variety of skills including;
- Charity Governance
- Conflict resolution
- Business Development
- PR and Communications
The main requirements of the role are to use your skills and expertise to achieve its charitable objectives and ensure its financial stability. Board meetings are held every 6 weeks, with additional sub-committees meeting as necessary. A Trustee could expect to commit around 2- 4 hours a month to RSACC. The Board generally meets on an evening and weekends. We particularly welcome applications from women with disabilities, LBT women and women from ethnically minoritised communities.
