ICOS is a long-established charity with a reputation for delivering high quality support for a wide range of people, particularly migrants establishing their lives in the North East of England, including those affected by domestic abuse, modern slavery and hate crime.
We do this through one-to-one advice and support, integrational work and events. Between May 2020 and May 2021, we supported 343 clients and more information about our work, including current projects can be found here: icos.org.uk.
ICOS has recently gone through a process of strengthening our governance. As part of this we are seeking individuals with a range of backgrounds and experience to fill vacancies on the Trustee Board. We are particularly interested in applicants from refugee a background, women and those with a background within the VCSE sector.
The expected time commitment is between 6 and 8 hours per month on average, inclusive of board meetings (which normally happen every six weeks and last two hours). While the trustee positions are not remunerated, expenses such as travel will be reimbursed.
The deadline for applications is Monday 25th October 2021.
Should you like to receive the trustee information pack and application form, or discuss any questions or queries, please feel free to contact:
