TEN North East, formerly known as South Tyneside TEN have worked in the heart of communities especially in South Tyneside for over 25 years. TEN was established in 1994 to address the unemployment levels in South Tyneside impacted by the decline in the shipbuilding and coal mining industries.
To provide long-term sustainability to TEN North East, the charitable Company became wholly owned by Groundwork South & North Tyneside. Under the governance model, TEN retains its own charitable company status with an independent Board of Trustees whilst benefiting from the Executive and Management expertise and support from Groundwork.
