Work Coach, full time 37 hours per week Salary £22,443 – £23,945 pa. Permanent, to deliver intensive client support across Newcastle & North Tyneside

Building Futures East offer a range of employment, vocational, personal development training and work experience opportunities to individuals from disadvantaged communities. These opportunities are delivered in accessible venues within the communities we serve and from our base on Walker Riverside in the East End of Newcastle. Due to an extension to existing funding and the secondment of the existing post-holder to other duties, we have an exciting opportunity to expand our delivery team and are seeking to recruit a full time equivalent work coach to provide intensive 1-to-1 coaching support for unemployed individuals across the region.

This post will be funded initially via the Wise Steps Building Better Opportunities Project until December 2021. Wise Steps has been awarded additional funding by the Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund to support people facing barriers to work in neighbourhoods across Newcastle, Sunderland, Gateshead and North Tyneside and South Tyneside, assisting people to access employment and work experience opportunities, support them to achieve qualifications and improve their wellbeing and life chances. Building Futures East is a delivery partner on the project as part of a diverse partnership of more than 40 locally-based organisations. This key role will involve work with clients based across Newcastle and areas of North Tyneside.

The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience of working with individuals facing significant disadvantage and multiple barriers to employment e.g. caring responsibilities, disabilities, mental health issues, addictions, homelessness and accessing employment. This role requires travel across the region as the support provided is community focussed

We believe that to achieve our vision, all Building Futures East staff must demonstrate on a daily basis the behaviours which underpin our core values. The closing date for receipt of applications is midday 3rd June 19. We propose to interview shortlisted candidates w/c 10th June 19

Application Packs are available by emailing or by telephone on 0191 263 2752. Please advise us if you require the application pack in a specific format. Completed application forms should be emailed or posted to:
