Tees Valley YMCA

It’s an exciting time at Tees Valley YMCA. Our team has worked hard throughout the pandemic to keep support for young people going as well as adapt where needed. We’ve recently secured new contracts and projects that build on this work, offering more opportunities to young people.

You will work within a team of Youth Workers and in partnership with Housing and Support colleagues to deliver the Y Connect project (and any associated projects). You will work with staff and volunteers connected to the project, delivering group and individual support sessions, working closely with young people to ensure they have genuine input into the design of all areas of support. You will also contribute to attracting referrals, working with partner organisations and the day-to-day development, implementation and delivery of all activities. The project will offer a range of fun activities (e.g. sports, arts, social) combined with issue-based workshops, facilitated sessions with partner organisations and smaller peer group and one to one support. Where appropriate, the project will connect with families and will work with schools to offer support to children who might need that extra bit of care when moving from primary into comprehensive. You will support and deliver community based outreach youth work in a range of settings, including community settings, streets and neighbourhoods. The team will target young people who are engaged or, at risk of engaging in risk taking behaviour, working with them to identify their needs and introduce and promote new opportunities and experiences.

We are currently recruiting to a range of permanent full time and part time posts, with various hours available. We are also interested in hearing from people who would like to work evenings and / or weekends.

You’ll find the Job Descriptions and Person Specifications on our website, along with an application form. To apply, please complete the application form, along with a short covering letter detailing why you are interested in one or more of the posts on offer. Please also indicate the number of hours you are interested in and your availability to work days, evenings and / or weekends. You should email your completed application to Alison Wennington –

If you would like to speak to someone about any of the posts on offer, please email Alison with your contact details and one of our team will be in touch.
