Funders Spotlight: Arts Council - National Lottery Project Grants

£1,000 - £100,000. Individuals, organisations, museums and libraries. No deadline.

The Council has re-opened this fund with a budget of £59.8 million available until April 2021.

Some changes have been made to make the fund more responsive to the needs of smaller independent organisations and individual practitioners during Covid-19:

  • Individual practitioners - aims for the success rate to be at least the same as it is for organisations (historically, it can be lower) and will focus more on funding activity that gives practitioners the time to think, plan and test new ideas. Investments will also be made in activity where the route to public engagement may take longer and may take place beyond the boundaries of the activity being applied for
  • Match funding: 10 per cent match funding is no longer required
  • Public Libraries: will now be able to apply for activity that aligns with any of the four Universal Library Offers (Creativity and Culture; Reading; Information and Digital; Health and Wellbeing)
  • Museums: can now apply for Subject Specialist Network activity. Applications will also be accepted from a wider range of applicants for any activity that benefits at least one Accredited museum, its collections and its visitors.
