Join the APLE Collective on 17 October to light the UK map and show solidarity for the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
APLE (Addressing Poverty with Lived Experience) is a national collective of individuals who experience poverty. They aim to create a sustainable grassroots network across the UK to raise awareness of poverty, reduce stigma and work together with others to eradicate it.
They invite you to stand together in a visible show of solidarity on 17 October.
They want to promote the fantastic work going on and talk about proposed solutions - raising awareness of the need to eradicate poverty on a local and national level. Last year, Thrive did an event in Stockton Town Centre encouraging people to talk about the issue they face - a bit like a speakers corner.
The theme for 2019 is Acting together to empower children, their families and communities to end poverty.
