On May 27th, in conjunction with the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, Professor Tony Chapman of Durham University presented the fifth and latest edition of Third Sector Trends in North East England.
The ground breaking annual study gives a snapshot of the scale, dynamics and needs of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in North East England.
Findings this year showed there are 7,200 third sector organisations in the North East, supported by 38,250 full time equivalent employees, and 154,400 volunteers, giving 11million hours of work for free.
