New representatives needed for NELEP area European Structural and Investment Funds Sub-Committees

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG is seeking two new members to join the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Sub-Committee to represent:

  1. Equality and Diversity
  2.  Social enterprise sector

LEP area ESIF sub-committees are part of the formal governance for the 2014-2020 European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), European Social Fund (ESF) and part of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) Operational Programmes for England. The role of the ESIF sub-committees is to provide advice to the three Managing Authorities responsible for administering the funds – MHCLG (ERDF), Department for Work and Pension DWP (ESF) and Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs DEFRA (EAFRD).

Members of the ESIF sub-committees are expected to:

  • Bring knowledge and expertise of the sector/theme they represent in respect of the local LEP area;
  • Be clear about who they represent and how and able to demonstrate accountability to their constituencies;
  • Attend and actively contribute to meetings, normally held 4-6 times per annum.
