Delegates will have a unique opportunity to hear from and speak to Brexit policy makers and influencers at our conference for the North East voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in October 2018.
The UK is leaving the European Union in March 2019, with a transition period following until December 2020. This presents the most significant political, economic, legislative and social shift in a generation.
VONNE 2018 presents a range of speakers who will enable delegates to hear the latest updates on the EU Withdrawal Bills and what they mean for the North East; discuss and respond to the consultation on the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (the domestic replacement for ESIF); and understand how VCSEs can support communities through the likely changes and what role devolution could play in the process.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Karl Wilding, NCVO
- Jane Thomas, Repeal Bill Alliance
- Tony Armstrong, Locality
- Jude Kirton-Darling, Labour MEP
- Gabrielle Melvin, OCS
- Sarah Longlands, IPPR North
- Henri Murison, The Northern Powerhouse
VONNE's Annual Conference will build on our previous work in this area and lead to the formation of a North East VCSE Brexit reference group, comprising VCSE leaders who will act as a voice for the region, working to ensure the concerns and priorities of the North East VCSE sector are heard.
