NFS, (Newcastle Furniture Service) is part of the commercial arm of YHN, we deliver and install furniture items to houses across the UK, predominantly in the North East, however we are growing and have new contracts covering the whole of the UK.

Our success means we are looking for a passionate leader for a newly created role to drive efficiencies and improvements across 4 key areas including Logistics, Warehouse & Stock, Customer Support and Repairs & Recycling to ensure we deliver outstanding service whilst continuously looking to improve our service offering.

What you’ll love about this job
Being responsible for the effective management of Operational Services, you will encounter new and interesting challenges every day.  The role has a high level of responsibility and you will influence future operational and strategic decisions by analysing performance across all NFS functions to give detailed performance reports to provide intelligence for YHN. 

You will have strong team support and will work closely with the Commercial Operations Manager to ensure that we achieve the highest customer service standards and help to create a harmonious, joined-up approach across each department. You will join a motivated team and help to lead the operations teams to deliver a high-quality service to meet the needs of our customers and clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be varied.  

You will support the Operations Manager in the procurement of goods and services and in ensuring the security of the warehouse and stock items. As well as dealing with escalated customer and client complaints in a professional manner and timely fashion. You will help to maintain a healthy, safe and secure work environment.

What you need to do the job
- Relevant Degree or extensive experience of leading in a warehouse/operational environment
- Strong communication across different departments, both verbal and written
- Experience of successfully delivering to targets and objective
- Knowledge and experience of EU procurement and driving regulations
- High level organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety compliance, including risk management
- Experience in managing, motivating and leading individuals and teams including performance management
- Experience in proactively identifying gaps, pushing for improvement, and continually delivering a high standard of service
- Good IT skills, PC literate and numerate
- Decisive decision maker with the ability to demonstrate initiative and independence
- High level of analytical skills to produce performance reporting, insight, and analysis
- High level of experience in stock control and supply chain management
