Employability Coach / Mentor

£30,611 per annum (pro-rata)

30.0 hours - 37.0 hours (negotiable)

25 days’ annual leave + bank holidays, plus 1 day per full leave year completed up to max. of 31 days (pro-rata)

It’s an exciting time to join us here at Tandem & Tandem Hub. There’s a fresh feel to what we do and we are looking for fresh faces to join us as we take our organisation (formerly Morrison Trust) to the next level.

The impact we have on the people we support is our primary concern and we are looking to fill two posts that will make a massive difference to people who might just need that extra bit of help to change their lives for the better.

The post holders will be key members of our team and will work to support people not only to gain skills and qualifications to help them on their employment journey, but equally to support wellbeing, confidence and outlook through positive experiences and coaching / mentoring throughout.

Job summary / key tasks:

  • Manage a participant caseload, providing individualised, person-centred support.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance, allowing participants to make informed choices.
  • Provide support to participants to develop their skills in: job-search, completing job applications, interview skills and preparation, so that participants are not reliant on accessing support to job-search.
  • Continuously build knowledge of key services available to participants to enable accurate signposting opportunities, e.g. Jobcentre Plus, training providers, colleges, other support providers (e.g. health, debt etc).
  • Develop and maintain outreach delivery opportunities in community settings and alongside other existing provision (e.g. food banks, community centres)
  • Work supportively and collaboratively with other team members including Tandem Hub team members.
  • Delivery of support on an outreach basis at locations across Darlington and the Tees Valley.
