We aim to achieve part-time opportunities enabling Clients to retain some of their Day Service, social care, package, supporting their needs outside work and as they age.
The Charity's Clients are adults with conditions from birth such as Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Prader-Willi and Smith Magenis Syndromes. Nationally fewer than 3.4% of adults with learning disabilities have employment, a statistical drop post COVID from 5.6%. Journey's past employability programmes have successfully supported 67% of participants in to paid part time work or self-employment. Through job carving and careful skills/job matching, the majority of adults in our care can achieve a part-time work outcome.
Working with our Clients in small groups and 1:1s, you will be joined by the wider team of specialist Learning Disability Support Workers and Seniors who work on employment and life skills, preparing Clients to move forward to Work Coach support.
