Salary:                    Band 1b: Starting salary £22,565 rising to £23,080 after successful probation (pro rata)

Hours:                    16 hrs per week with possible increase subject to demand

Base:                      Home working after training ***

Accountable to:     Operations Manager

Carers Federation Ltd is a national charity and company limited by guarantee established in 1992 to empower carers, the people for whom they care and the wider community. The charity is managed by a Board of Trustees who is elected by our membership.

 

An opportunity has arisen for an advocate within the North East NHS Independent Complaints Advocacy service in Stockton on Tees to support members of the public through the NHS Complaints process. You must live in or close to Stockton on Tees***

 

Based at home after comprehensive training with the ability to travel, this is a high quality and dynamic service that empowers patients, carers and service users to identify and act upon the service options or choices available to them.

You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and first-class listening skills. You will be computer literate and able to research, collate and convey relevant information. Experience of advocacy and voluntary services would be helpful, as would experience in a support, care, or service environment.

 

You must have or be willing to work towards the Certificate in Independent Advocacy qualification. Holders of the qualification will be offered a higher salary.
