Citizens Advice Darlington Redcar and Cleveland are recruiting to join our Welfare Benefits Team. We have the opportunity of appointing 2x Welfare Benefit Outrach Adviser posts - one funded by Macmillan upto 31/12/25 and one funded initially for one year - both with the possibility for extension.
Both posts are based in Darlington delivering a comprehensive Welfare Benefits advice service to individuals and families in need.
Providing support and guidance to clients in understanding and accessing welfare benefits, ensuring they receive the appropriate financial assistance and support, including support with welfare benefits and mandatory reconsiderations.
This is a perfect opportunity for focussed individuals with great communication skills and a strong commitment to improving the well-being of individuals and communities.
The Macmillan role will provide a holistic welfare benefits, employment, housing and general advice service for people affected by cancer within a hospital setting and multi-channel. Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of the impact of cancer and previous experience in supporting clients.
We offer comprehensive training so if you don’t meet all the person specification but have some advice work experience and knowledge of the benefits system, we still encourage you to apply if you think you would be a good fit for the role.
