Connected Voice has an exciting opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic and experienced person to deliver our work to support services and health improvement for ethnically marginalised communities in Newcastle. The role will involve:

  • Coordinating and delivering a comprehensive, cross sector training programme
  • Signposting and supporting organisations
  • Sharing good practice and information
  • Highlighting local issues relating to health within ethnically marginalised communities

The successful candidate will work closely with Newcastle City Council’s Public Health service, the voluntary and community sector and other public sector organisations

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience of designing and delivering training programmes that have clear learning outcomes.
  • A good understanding of the health and wellbeing challenges affecting ethnically marginalised communities.
  • Experience of working in different communities and experience of community development work, particularly with people from marginalised groups.

Haref work with ethnically marginalised communities to identify their key issues around health and improve the health information available to them. We help health services have a better understanding of what communities need and we build confidence within communities so they can talk to health services about their cultural needs. Our main office is in the centre of Newcastle and Connected Voice has a particular focus on tackling inequalities.  We operate a hybrid working system with a mix of home and office-based working.
