In 2022, VONNE was successfully funded to launch a unique and ambitious pilot scheme to support the voluntary and community sector towards Net Zero. Thanks to the support of the National Lottery Community Fund and County Durham Community Foundation, we’re bringing events, training opportunities, and bespoke support to organisations across the North East and Cumbria.
Going Green Together is a partnership between VONNE, Cumbria CVS, Cumbria Action for Sustainability, genee and SmartCarbon. With the help of expert consultants, we’re delivering three programmes to help organisations like you become environmentally sustainable and take part in climate action.

Think Green Together is our open access programme. You can find free learning materials and resources on the Going Green Together website, as well as register for our upcoming events.
Become Green Together provides 12 months of expert support on how to make your organisation environmentally sustainable, alongside accessing helpful tools like a carbon footprint calculator, and gain accreditation with Investors in the Environment. Applications are currently closed, and are set to re-open in 2024.
Through Act Green Together we’re learning how to make new environmental projects more successful, by allocating development funds for 13 projects across the region. We’ll be sharing our findings from this programme soon.

Testimonials
Become Green Together has helped provide tools and focus for us to take our climate action ambitions to the next level. Genee and Smart Carbon have been incredibly helpful and we feel so much more confident as to how we can move forward positively with our plan for net zero.

balletLORENT joined Become Green Together in October 2022, and the training and guidance we have received so far has been invaluable... The knowledge we have gained will vastly change the way we look at our impact, and I can’t recommend the programme enough.

The chance to speak to peers running a broad range of businesses has contributed to a sense of positivity and overall optimism about the nature of the work… I urge any small business interested in accessing this opportunity to grasp it and jump on board.
