Heart Wood is a mental health charity that offers person-centred group therapy in woodland for people living in West Northumberland.
We currently work with men. The majority of our participants are unable to engage with other services. Since coming to Heart Wood, participants have had improvements in their mood, are less lonely and isolated, have a better connection with nature, have made friends, feel part of a community and are less likely to take their own lives.
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join Heart Wood as voluntary Trustees.
We are looking for people who can bring:
- Empathy for the lives of our target beneficiaries and a passion for improving the lives of vulnerable people
- A commitment to Heart Wood’s therapeutic approach
- The skills and experience to contribute to the delivery of Heart Wood’s aims and purpose, and to ensure it operates effectively
- Knowledge, expertise and connections in one or more relevant areas of expertise
We would particularly welcome applications from people who have:
- Experience of financial management and accounting, especially in the charitable sector
- Experience in fundraising and grant applications
- Experience of HR policy and practice
