Trustees – Wallsend Children’s Community

Since 2016 we have been working to empower every child, young person, and family in Wallsend to fulfil their potential.

At the core of our mission is systems change. This means that we collaborate with communities and partners to reshape structures, policies, relationships, and mindsets. By working together, we enable all children to become the very best versions of themselves.

As a newly registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation, we are inviting you to join our Board of Trustees, as we move from being part of Save the Children UK to working in partnership.

As a Trustee you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and sustainability of our organisation by providing leadership, oversight and support.

Join us as a Trustee (voluntary)

We seek dedicated individuals to join our Board of Trustees and support our ambitious vision. We particularly welcome candidates with experience in:

  • Finance
  • Fundraising
  • Governance
  • Marketing
  • Live and raising children in Wallsend or surrounding area

Previous experience as a trustee is welcome, but not essential. Your skills and qualities of compassion, determination, and empathy are also important, as well as your belief that a village can and should bring up its children.

Commitment:

Your time and expertise will help shape the future of WCC and support our mission to create lasting change. Our board meets six to eight times a year, with meetings held either remotely or in person and one strategy day with an optional day visiting operational activities. This averages up to six hours per month.  This is a voluntary role with reasonable expenses reimbursed.

How to Apply:

Please submit your CV with a covering letter highlighting your suitability and why you wish to join Wallsend Children’s Community Board.
