Support into Volunteering Coordinator (Newcastle)
£30,833 per annum for full time hours
14 hours a week
Connected Voice is seeking a new member of staff for our Volunteering Service. This exciting part-time role involves coordinating the delivery of a new programme called the Support into Volunteering Pathway. This programme will be delivered to Newcastle residents and will focus on supporting beneficiaries who are in recovery from addiction into volunteer roles across the city. The programme aims to enhance health, wealth, and wellbeing by helping beneficiaries find purpose, contribute to their community, and increase their skills, knowledge, and experience through volunteering.
Your primary responsibilities will include meeting with beneficiaries signposted into the programme, assessing their needs and readiness for volunteering, identifying appropriate volunteer roles for them and signposting on to next steps. Additionally, you will collaborate with local organisations to support them in providing meaningful volunteering opportunities that deliver positive outcomes for volunteers in this demographic and work alongside the Volunteering Service team to promote volunteering and its benefits.
We are looking for a people person with the ability to build strong relationships. You should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and possess excellent organisational skills. A deep understanding of the needs and motivations of volunteers is essential. Knowledge of the needs of people in recovery from addiction, which can be from lived experience, is also essential. Your attitude, work ethic, and enthusiasm are as crucial to us as your experience.
The role is 14 hours per week. There is potential for this to be increased subject to funding. The role is currently fixed term, for 12 months from the first day of employment with the potential for extension or to become a permanent role, subject to funding.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support people through volunteering while also advancing your own professional expertise.
