CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER FOR DAFT AS A BRUSH CANCER PATIENT CARE, BASED IN NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
‘Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care’ (DAAB) is a cancer charity which was established in 2010 to provide a free-of-charge cancer patient transport service to The Newcastle Hospitals. Over the years the charity has developed to provide this service which covers the Northern region of the North-East coast across to the west coast, and from the Scottish Borders down to Wearside. 70,000 cancer patient journeys are undertaken per year with the charity’s future target aiming to provide1,000,000 cancer patient journeys per year.
DAAB wish to recruit a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to develop and manage the work of the charity transporting cancer patients to and from hospital to receive their treatment NATIONWIDE.
The CEO will need to have a day-to-day relationship with the many volunteers working for DAAB and show clear leadership skills in running the charity and reporting to its trustees
Candidates will need to show a track record of attracting investment/funding in the charitable sector.
Candidates will need to evidence previous leadership at a senior management level at a similar charity or organisation
Candidates will be expected to have the ethos and the aims of DAAB at their heart with a view to carrying its vision forward and expanding its areas of operation.
Experience working within or closely with the NHS would be advantageous but not essential.
Salary will be dependent upon skills, however this will be in the region of around £50,000 per annum.
