Role description: Senior Project Support

Tyne Housing currently provides housing for 36 vulnerable people, some of whom are women who have experienced domestic abuse, in Gateshead. This includes Charlotte House, which is a service specifically for women with multiple and complex needs who are threatened with homelessness.

Additionally, we are currently building, in partnership with Gateshead Council, The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, and Homes England, two bespoke new developments to cater for vulnerable people who need support to live independently.

Prospect Place in Pelaw will provide 20 self-contained flats with 24/7 staffing for vulnerable men and women over the age of 25, while Southernwood in Harlow Green will provide 14 flats for younger people aged 18-24, also with 24/7 support and assistance.

Many residents have experienced domestic abuse and face multiple and complex needs, including homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use, and social isolation.

Our aim is to create stability and safety as a foundation for recovery, helping women to build resilience and move towards greater independence in their own homes.

This role is based in a Tyne service in Gateshead but is designed to work across all Tyne properties to ensure support is holistic and responsive to individual needs, helping them cope with the impact of abuse and other challenges, while reducing barriers to safety and recovery. Acting as an advocate, you will support women to access and engage with health, legal, and specialist services; including working closely with Gateshead Council’s Domestic Abuse Services and coordinate multi-agency responses where needed.

In addition, you will collaborate with the Charlotte House team, and the wider Tyne team, to strengthen their understanding of domestic abuse and embed trauma-informed approaches across the service.

Due to the nature of this service, we are looking for female only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.

Additional Benefits:

  • Tyne pay the Real Living Wage
  • 26 days holiday rising to 30 after 5 years of service.
  • Your birthday off
  • A generous pension scheme
  • Death in service benefits
  • Personal training and development planning
  • Full service employee assistance programme
  • + much more
