BBC Inside Out in Newcastle are making an half hour film on the collapse of Northern Rock, due to be broadcast in September which will be the 10 year anniversary of the collapse of the bank.
Their intention is to tell the story of what happened now that ten years have elapsed; test the various theories and assertions regarding responsibility for the collapse; and show the effect on the region.
In particular, they would like to explore the work done by the Northern Rock Foundation; how it was a major source of funds; and how its closure had an impact on charities and organisations in the region.
They are keen to speak to representatives of organisations who were funded by the Northern Rock Foundation, about their efforts in finding replacement funding and about any cutbacks they have implemented in the wake of the closure.
