Applications are now being taken for the Big Energy Saving programme 2016/17 from third sector organisations and community groups across the UK.
Following the success of the first three years of the Big Energy Saving Network, the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) is pleased to launch the application process for grant funding of the 2016/17 programme. The Big Energy Saving Network delivers an extensive programme of outreach to vulnerable consumers, focused on helping them reduce their energy costs and consumption.
This funded outreach programme will run through autumn/winter 2016/17, with outreach activity concluding on 24 March 2017. The programme of outreach will be led by specially trained Network Champions that will co-ordinate the training of further Volunteers and frontline workers. These Volunteers and frontline workers will in turn deliver proactive advice to consumers on energy issues via an assisted action approach.
Eligible third sector organisations and community groups are invited to make an application for funding by no later than midnight on Sunday 10 July 2016. Please note, the same Champion cannot be nominated by more than one organisation.
