Big Lottery Fund is developing a programme to help young people overcome barriers to employment.
The design of the programme will be informed by learning from the Government’s Race Disparity Audit, as well as from programmes such as the Big Lottery Fund’s current ‘Talent Match’ programme which is supporting young people furthest from the labour market.
This announcement launches an engagement phase which will put young people at the centre of designing a £90 million programme to help tackle barriers to employment.
Big Lottery Fund are working jointly with colleagues from DCMS, DfE and DWP to learn from what young people and organisations tell us and to develop the different options.
They expect ministers to issue a policy direction to the Big Lottery Fund about what the programme should focus on and what it should achieve in summer 2018. Big Lottery will then engage in a further period of co-design on the specifics of the programme.

As part of this engagement phase Big Lottery are conducting some online surveys.
If you work with young people, or know people who do, please share this online survey as they want to hear from as many young people as possible. They particularly want to hear from young people aged 16-24 who are not in employment, education or training.
