Office for Civil Society: Preparing for EU Exit General News The Office for Civil Society aims to support civil society during the process of EU exit. They want to ensure the sector has access to all of the information the government has made available on preparing for EU exit and ensure that civil society sector organisations have an opportunity to let the government know any views or concerns it may have. They have published a special bulletin on preparing for EU exit which will be of interest to the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. 11 Feb 2019
NAVCA Awards General News The inaugural NAVCA Awards are now open for nominations from our members. There are nine categories including leadership, story telling and rising stars, and we'll be announcing the winners at a ceremony on 19 March in London. Applications open for ageing accelerator General News North East businesses and start-ups developing innovative solutions in the ageing sector can now apply to take part in our full Ageing Innovation Accelerator.  Following an intensive series of workshops to outline some of the challenges and opportunities associated with an ageing society, the accelerator provides a package of support to help budding innovators bring their ideas to market. This includes up to £12,500 of investment from Northstar Ventures and 6 months office space on Newcastle Helix, courtesy of Newcastle City Council. 11 Feb 2019
Charity Ethical Principles General News NCVO have published a set of Charity Ethical Prinicples to support charities and provide a framework within which relevant policies and procedures can be developed and reviewed. They can help charities in their decision making and in developing relevant policies and procedures. Tees Valley Local Industrial Strategy General News Tees Valley has been identified as a ‘wave 2’ area to develop a Local Industrial Strategy (LIS). It is important that the LIS is informed by local intelligence, and that the priorities identified set a shared course to increase productivity in the region.
