The 2024 Charity Digital Skills report was released today. The report is the annual barometer of digital adoption, skills, attitudes, funding and support needs across the sector.
The report shows a year when tech use across the sector has evolved, yet overall digital progress has remained static, with the cost of living crisis impacting on charities and their organisational development. A lack of capacity, headspace and financial pressures are all preventing progress with digital.
Key statistics from this year's report:
- 54% of charities see building an online presence and social media engagement as vital.
- 61% of charities are currently using AI in their day-to-day work or operations.
- A lack of suitable digital funding is the biggest barrier faced by 45% of charities.
