A coaching approach November 2026

A coaching approach aims to give you the skills, tools, mindset and confidence to adopt a coaching approach and create a coaching culture. It is a practical and participative programme of two half-day in-person workshops with time for intentional practice in between. The programme is hosted by Yes We Can Community CIC and will be faciliated by Robert Laycock, a qualified, practicing coach.

The cost of each place is £195, and the dates of the two workshops are
- Wednesday 4 November 2026, 12:30 for 13:00-16:00
- Tuesday 24 November 2026, 12:30 for 13:00-16:00

By taking part in A coaching approach, you’ll learn
- the five building blocks of a great conversation
- about coaching conversations and models
- the benefits of using a coaching approach and creating a coaching culture
- when a coaching approach might not help

In the workshops, the learning group will
- learn and explore content together
- practice coaching conversations and skills together
- reflect on what you’re learning
- make plans for your ongoing learning
- connect and build relationships with others in your learning group

The programme is supported by learning resources, tools and templates. Yes We Can will also invite you to the programme’s network and community of practice to support you to keep learning, developing and growing together with your peers.

Creating cultures of learning, development and growth

Yes We Can is working to create cultures of learning, development and growth in our VCSE sector in the north east. This is one of their contributions to us all having what we need to flourish in our social leadership roles. 

For the next three years – 2026-2028 – Yes We Can is committed to running A coaching approach and Reflective practice programmes at least once a year, and our main eight-month leadership programme – Lead and manage: Best self, great teams, amazing together – once a year.
