It appears that there has been some confusion over what we are seeking EOI for, so we have decided to extend the deadline until Friday 12th June and provide some further clarification below.
The North East Community Energy (NE Community Energy) project, a partnership developed by VONNE, Northern Powergrid and Community Energy England, are seeking expressions of interest from potential delivery and project partners across four strands of project activity:
- Community Level Capacity Building and Engagement
- Energy Efficiency - community buildings
- Energy Management
- Energy Generation
By delivery partners we mean organisations that can help develop and deliver the four strands of project delivery and by project partners organisations/ projects that could form part of the programme of activities e.g. energy efficiency/ community building projects that are planned or already exist or planned community energy generation projects.
We appreciate that the EOI form is quite comprehensive as it contains questions to enable us to complete the ERDF outline application form, where a great deal of detail about delivery and project partners is required. We would ask that you complete it to the best of your ability as we appreciate that projects are at different stages of development. Further support will be offered as required to help pull together the information we require.
NE Community Energy are planning to submit a bid for ERDF funding to support the development and delivery of a programme of community-based energy initiatives across the North East. To help inform the development of the ERDF bid, NE Community Energy are seeking to identify eligible projects which could form part of the programme of activity, and be included as named schemes in the ERDF bid which would benefit from ERDF funding.
It is anticipated that the ERDF bid will be submitted in June 2015, and will cover three years of activity (July 2015 – June 2018), with a subsequent bid being submitted at a later stage to cover a further 3 years of activity. (However, the timescale for the submission of ERDF bids may slip, as it is dependent on the National ERDF Programme being formally agreed with the European Commission.)
