Deadline August 16th, 2022.
The foundation supports projects and initiatives that deliver real and lasting community benefit in the North East.
The Inclusion Grant Programme supports initiatives in two areas:
- Economic inclusion:
- Removing barriers to employment, training and volunteering
- Reducing child poverty
- Tackling fuel poverty
- Improving financial wellbeing.
- Social inclusion:
- Reducing isolation and loneliness
- Promoting independence
- Building citizenship, confidence and aspiration.
The foundation is particularly interested in projects that demonstrate how they reach and will support communities where Bernicia tenants live.
Grants of £5,000 - £10,000 are usually awarded, but amounts outside these guidelines may be considered where they demonstrate significant community value.
The fund is open to constituted voluntary or community organisations and registered charities, including charitable companies. Core costs can be considered for eligible charitable organisations to help them recover from the impact of Covid-19 (excluding non- charitable social enterprises).
For social enterprises that are not charities, the foundation will only fund charitable starting up costs of setting up the enterprise, and not the costs of continuing services, which should be financed by the sale of goods and services.
Applicants must be based or working in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, County Durham and Teesside, have an annual income under £750,000 as well as no more than six months’ running costs in reserve.
