The regional Thriving Communities Network is open to anyone working for voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations with an interest in or involved in the delivery of social prescribing in the North East, North Cumbria and Yorkshire regions, as well as those working in the NHS and health and care system – such as social prescribing Link Workers and host organisations, PCN staff, Public Health and Local Authority health leads in the region. We encourage anyone who wants to make better connections between VCSFE and health & care sector to join. More about our regional Thriving Communities Network and previous activity here. Starting this Autumn, Network members can participate in a variety of events and activities which aim to help share information, increase capacity and further your knowledge about social prescribing across the region. These activities will provide insight into how social prescribing is developing, give opportunities to network and connect with others working in social prescribing and delivering services, meet local and national social prescribing leads and partners, explore ways to develop your work in social prescribing, and take part in new learning development activities.
In September the Network will be hosting the first of a new webinar series which will set the scene on the current social prescribing landscape and ecosystem within the North East and Yorkshire.
Our 'Understanding the social prescribing landscape and building collaboration at health system and local level' webinar takes place on Wednesday, September 21st, 1.30pm – 3pm (Zoom)
Join us to discover more about the social prescribing landscape and how it is developing from key NHS England regional social prescribing leads and Health and Care Partnership Managers.
There will the opportunity to join local Integrated Care System (ICS) discussion groups to find out more about your local social prescribing network and explore the potential for greater cross-sector collaboration.

This rolling webinar series will cover a variety of themes including existing models of social prescribing in the region - where you can learn from those who are managing and developing successful programmes. Other topics include looking at sustainable funding and what the future of funding could look like for social prescribing programmes, and there will be an opportunity to learn about social prescribing models that are tackling specific health inequalities.
You can also take part in a series of regional connector networking events - providing an opportunity for those employed by VCFSE organisations delivering social prescribing programmes or interested in social prescribing development to come together with social prescribing Link Workers and health sector social prescribing leads to develop more connections within your area.
And Network members you will also have the opportunity to join a new series of Action Learning Sets and leadership development training with training delivery partner Yes We Can CIC.
