Public Health England has announced that it will be once again running the HIV Innovation Fund. The Fund aims to maximise the potential in the voluntary sector to develop effective ways to address HIV prevention in communities at increased risk of the infection. This year proposals will be accepted from voluntary sector organisations to deliver projects of up to 12 months in duration of a cost of between £25,000 and £100,000.
The North East was successful in 2017-2018 with one project addressing HIV awareness raising targeting male sex workers. It would be great to see some more proposals submitted from our region again this year.
It is helpful if any VCSE organisation that has project for submission has contacted both local sexual health service providers and local authority commissioners to ensure that the proposal meets the local / regional population needs and compliments existing services.
