The London North Eastern Railway (LNER) franchise includes a Customer and Communities Improvement Fund (CCIF) to deliver projects that will benefit customers and communities along the East Coast Main Line.
The funding is available yearly, with the next round of funding available from spring 2019.
LNER want this to be a partnership fund, recognising and supporting schemes and projects identified by the customers and communities they serve.
All the proposals will be presented to a panel of representatives from all areas of LNER. Their final recommendations will then be put to the Department for Transport (DfT) for approval.
LNER are looking for bids of all shapes and sizes, however they must relate to the LNER route. It would be great if the fund could help close the gap on projects where some existing funding has been secured, or could be available from other sources. However, each proposal will be treated on its own merits and consideration of the benefit it would bring to the community.
Bids can cover any aspect of local rail services, be it infrastructure or service improvements or indeed outreach and help to support customers, and they have not set any upper or lower limits in terms of size of grant.
So that they can start the schemes in spring 2019, LNER are asking for proposals for this round of bids.
The application window will open on 3rd Sept and close on 2nd Nov 2018.
This form provides guidance notes on the information needed for an application and headings that need to be included.
Applications will then need to be sent to the CCIF email address
